I am experienced in working with people with a variety of difficulties including:
I currently practice from two locations. One from a private countryside space near East Bridgford and the second from an inner-city space in Newark. My countryside practice naturally lends itself to nature-based working, whilst my practice in Newark is very accessible and convenient. As each client will have different needs and requirements, these two options offer an alternative when thinking about what kind of therapeutic environment may work for you.
Each person is unique, and each relationship is individual therefore I integrate a range of theoretical and philosophical approaches to attend to the individual needs of each client. This can facilitate a sense of wholeness as we explore and integrate our experience. I am interested in working with clients from a variety of diverse backgrounds and experiences. I believe through the therapeutic relationship we can develop an understanding and self- awareness to encourage personal and relational change.
Working with developmental and relational trauma is an area of interest for me especially in relation to the immune system. This focuses on the neurological nature of trauma and the client as a whole system - body, mind and soul. I am also drawn to our experience of the natural environment as a therapeutic space which can nurture reflection and regulation.
I have experience of long, mid-term and short-term work, although typically I work mostly with longer term contracts. Situated in the Newark countryside my practice setting encourages natural exploration. I provide an indoor/ outdoor private space overlooking fields and woodland that is both unique and engaging.
Alternatively, if you are based in the city, I can offer you a session from my Newark location that is convenient and easy to access.
